Looking for an alternative? Here’s how Halqa fits

Halqa (HalqaHub) puts chat, communities and a local marketplace in one free app. If you use several apps for these today, here’s where Halqa is different, and when it’s the better fit.

OLX, Facebook, WhatsApp and Discord are trademarks of their owners. Halqa isn’t affiliated with them; this page describes Halqa’s own features.

An OLX alternative for buying and selling

OLX is a classifieds site: you post an ad and buyers contact you. Halqa’s marketplace adds a few things around the sale itself:

  • Offers in the chat. Buyers make an offer, you accept, counter or decline, all in one conversation with the item shown as a card.
  • A handover code. When you meet, the buyer gives you a code to complete the order, so both sides have a record of the sale.
  • Reviews only from completed sales, and Seller, Trusted seller and Top seller badges earned from them.
  • Distributors can list stock in bulk (50 of the same item as one listing).

Browse the marketplace or sell something.

A Facebook Marketplace alternative

Facebook Marketplace lives inside Facebook and uses your Facebook account. Halqa is a separate app with one @username for chat, communities and selling, no ads, and listings that anyone can open without signing in.

  • Buy and sell inside the communities you’re part of, or across your city.
  • Verified and Organization badges after Halqa checks who a seller is.
  • Report anything in two taps; every moderation decision is explained and can be appealed.

A WhatsApp groups and Communities alternative

WhatsApp is built around phone numbers and private chats. Halqa communities are built for groups that grow: public or invite-only, found by name, with channels and threads instead of one long group chat.

  • Join with an @username; your phone number isn’t shown to the group.
  • Channels for topics, threads for discussions, roles and moderation tools for admins.
  • A marketplace built in, so a buy-and-sell group gets offers, orders and reviews.

A Discord alternative for local and interest communities

Discord is designed around servers for gaming and online groups. Halqa communities have channels and roles too, and add a marketplace, posts and profiles with reputation, which suits city groups, schools, clubs and businesses.
