Community guidelines

Halqa works when people can trust each other. These rules apply everywhere: posts, comments, chats, communities and the marketplace.

Spam

Don’t post repetitive, unwanted or misleading content, or use fake engagement.

Scams and fraud

Don’t deceive people to take their money, goods or personal information.

Harassment and bullying

Don’t target people with abuse, insults, threats or unwanted contact.

Violent threats

Don’t threaten or encourage violence against anyone.

Hate speech

Don’t attack people for who they are: religion, ethnicity, caste, gender, disability or similar.

Sexual content

Don’t share sexual content or nudity outside the places where it’s allowed.

Child safety

Never share content that sexualises or endangers children. We report it to the authorities.

Illegal or prohibited items

Don’t buy, sell or promote items that are illegal or not allowed on Halqa.

Counterfeits

Don’t sell fake or replica branded goods.

Impersonation

Don’t pretend to be another person, brand or organisation.

Self-harm

Don’t promote or encourage suicide or self-harm.

Graphic violence

Don’t share gratuitously violent or gory content.

Copyright and trademark

Don’t share content you don’t have the rights to.

Privacy

Don’t share other people’s private information without permission.

Harmful misinformation

Don’t share false information that could cause real-world harm.

Reporting

Use Report on any post, comment, message, photo, profile, community or listing. Reports are private: the person you report isn’t told who reported them.

What happens next

Trained moderators review reports, most urgently those about child safety and threats. Depending on what happened, we may remove content, give a warning, limit features for a while, or suspend or ban an account. We always tell you what we did and which rule it was about.

Appeals

If you think we got it wrong, appeal from Settings → Account status, or from the sign-in page if your account is suspended. Someone other than the moderator who made the decision reviews it, and you’ll hear back either way.
